8" x 6" x 3/4", oil on masonite panel
This piece came from a series of photos I recently took at an old friend's house - one of the many small curated collections of vintage items she has set up throughout her living space. I took the photos simply because I thought they were beautiful and might lead to interesting paintings, but didn't really know the story behind the objects. This rose turned out to be from the recent wedding of said friend and another old friend. When I showed her the painting, she pointed out the full circle nature of the piece as I'd originally introduced her and her husband and had now unknowingly painted a symbol of their union so many years later.
